About The Position

The Medical Assistant maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses in providing optimal care to patients and families. The position involves reimbursed travel and is also open to candidates with Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in examining and treating patients.
• Maintain patient care environments and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs during the rooming process.
• Complete medication reconciliation.
• Chaperone providers during patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform point-of-care testing.
• Process and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Stock and organize exam rooms and clinical supplies.
