Medical Assistant (Full Time)
About The Position
Schweiger is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Freedom and Gilroy offices. The Medical Assistant performs high-quality medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting. Previous healthcare experience is required. The schedule is 30 or more hours per week, with availability Monday through Friday and flexibility to help cover in a team environment. The position supports providers with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures, patient care, documentation, room preparation, and inventory. The Medical Assistant also attends in-house training and continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
- Availability to work weekdays and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Dermatology experience.
- Nationally Certified Medical Assistant credential.
Responsibilities
- Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care for patients and providers.
- Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
- Assist providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures within established guidelines.
- Understand provider-to-patient flow and anticipate providers’ next steps to the best of their ability.
- Prepare rooms before and after patients, including checking equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure it is working properly.
- Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
- Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily, and alert the Head MA and/or GM when supplies are low.
- Perform inventory responsibilities and stock supplies and equipment as requested.
- Attend all in-house training and continuing education opportunities.
