Medical Assistant - Ambulatory Care Clinics - PRN
About The Position
Aspen Valley Health is hiring a PRN Medical Assistant for its Ambulatory Care Clinics. The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients under the direction of physician and nursing staff. The role also supports front desk and clinic operations, including patient registration, consent forms, insurance information, scanning, charging, and collecting payments when appropriate. The Medical Assistant provides exceptional customer service, answers phones, helps maintain office supplies, and communicates and coordinates information courteously with staff, patients, and families. Medical Assistants float between outpatient clinics according to staffing needs. The position has a rotating 8-hour shift. PRN employees are eligible to purchase discounted bus passes for commuting, participate in 457B, and take part in AVH-hosted programs. Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS); may be obtained upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant certification.
- Current, unrestricted certification or licensure as an EMT in Colorado, or ability to obtain it.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to patients under the direction of physician and nursing staff.
- Register patients completely and accurately.
- Complete consent-for-treatment forms and obtain insurance information.
- Perform scanning and charging responsibilities, including collecting payment at the time of service when appropriate.
- Provide exceptional customer service and answer phones.
- Assist with maintaining office supplies and the daily operations of the clinic.
- Communicate and coordinate information courteously with staff, patients, and families.
- Float between outpatient clinics according to staffing needs.
