About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Baptist Pulmonary Specialists office in Fernandina Beach, Florida. The role performs back-office medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, drawing blood, and assisting one provider. Pulmonary experience is preferred. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.
• Experience in a physician's office.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Nice To Haves

• Pulmonary experience.
• Associate's degree.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assistance to physicians.
• Obtain vital signs.
• Greet and chaperone patients during medical visits.
• Perform telephone triage.
• Update, record, and file medical information and forms.
• Maintain medical documentation.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Process incoming faxed orders, medication refill requests, and inquiries.
• Room patients and perform blood draws.
• Assist one provider.
