About The Position

Toledo Clinic is seeking a full-time Credentialed Medical Assistant to provide clinical support in its fast-paced Dermatology Office on Secor Road in Toledo, Ohio. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Medical Assistant supports physicians with patient treatment and preparation and performs clerical duties under the supervision of the Office Manager.

The clinic offers employee benefits and a $2,000 sign-on bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. The bonus is payable within 30 days of hire for employees with active, verified credentials; for candidates who need to obtain or renew a credential, it is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. Qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 retention bonus after one year of service.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant credential, such as CMA, CCMA, or RMA.
• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
• Consistently arrive in appropriate, professional attire.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Adaptability to expanded roles.
• Meet the requirements of the Medicare Exclusion List.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical medical assisting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with minor procedures.
• Prepare patients for physicians, including obtaining vital signs and histories.
• Answer patient questions at the physician’s request.
• Answer phones courteously and professionally.
• Schedule appointments, lab tests, surgeries, and other services.
• Accurately enter patient information into the electronic medical record.
• Verify referrals and/or pre-authorizations.
• Update insurance information.
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Administer injections.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms.
• Arrive on time and adhere to the regular work schedule.
• Complete tasks within established time frames and follow clinic policies and procedures.
• Seek appropriate tasks when primary tasks are complete and assist co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
