Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
  • Must be experienced and competent in venipuncture/blood draws.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and follow all clinical and regulatory protocols
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Verbalizes mission, goals, and strategic plan for the organization.
  • Verbalizes understanding of roles and responsibilities of staff.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a medical office or specialty practice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document patients’ medical histories, vital signs, allergies, and other pertinent information.
  • Verify patient identity and information in the EMR prior to examinations.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and medical staff during procedures.
  • Explain routine treatment and examination procedures to patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Perform venipuncture/blood draws and other routine clinical procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Perform catheterization, sterile dressing changes, and other specialized procedures as assigned and within scope of practice.
  • Collect, label, and properly handle laboratory specimens.
  • Enter laboratory results, radiographic studies, and authorization requests accurately into the EMR.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support physicians and other medical staff.
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and properly stock examination rooms before and after patient visits.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate medical supplies and equipment.
  • Complete administrative and clerical duties accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Provide excellent patient service and contribute to a professional, respectful, and team-oriented environment.
