Medical Assistant (Outpatient), Tulare Medical Office (Full-Time, Day Shift)
About The Position
Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or nurse midwife. The role is based at the Tulare Medical Office and is full-time on the day shift. The Medical Assistant sets up exam rooms, checks in patients, maintains a patient recall system and continuity-of-care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers, obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent observations to the clinic physician. The role also performs ordered venipunctures and audiometry and vision testing, along with other job-related duties as assigned. Adventist Health requires associates to receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.
Requirements
- High school education, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from an approved vendor, per Adventist Health policy.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent combination of licensure and experience.
- Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or a CHDP certificate within six months of hire.
- Phlebotomy certificate.
Responsibilities
