About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Kenmore Primary Care assists providers in delivering quality patient care and promotes a culture of safety. The role includes preparing patients and the clinical environment, supporting examinations and procedures, administering injections as ordered, and accurately using the electronic medical record.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent, or applicable coursework toward obtaining the required Washington State Medical Assistant Certification.
Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification.
Current national certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by the date of hire.
Proficiency with medical terminology.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

National certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is strongly preferred.
One year of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Greets and rooms patients according to standards.
Takes patient histories and vital signs.
Prepares patients for examinations.
Assists providers with examinations, surgical procedures, and diagnostic testing.
Maintains an appropriate sterile environment for clinical procedures or situations and follows Washington State transmission-precaution standards.
Administers intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections according to provider orders.
Uses the EMR efficiently and follows appropriate processes for entering and retrieving data.
