About The Position
We are looking for a Medical Assistant to work in a busy physician's office on behalf of our lab conducting genetic testing. This role involves speaking to each patient, using an iPad-based questionnaire to determine test qualification, completing paperwork, and collecting DNA samples via a mouthwash swish. The tests assess cancer risk and identify genetic mutations that could be passed to children, allowing the Medical Assistant to make a significant difference in patients' lives. There is potential for transitioning to full-time employment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years working in a fast-paced office.
- Must have strong patient interaction skills.
Nice To Haves
- Certification preferred but NOT required.
Responsibilities
- Speak to each patient that comes into the office.
- Utilize an iPad-based questionnaire to see if the patient qualifies for the test.
- Fill out the necessary paperwork.
- Collect DNA samples (mouthwash swish).
