About The Position

Women’s health is personal. The care, reassurance, and support a patient receives can make all the difference in how she experiences her healthcare. At Greater Seacoast Health, we’re looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our Women’s Health team in Portsmouth, NH. In this role, you’ll work closely with providers and patients, supporting care across different stages of a woman’s life while helping create an environment where every patient feels respected, comfortable, and heard. This is more than rooming patients and taking vitals. You’ll become a trusted part of the care team, helping patients navigate routine women’s healthcare, prenatal services, procedures, follow-up care, and everything in between. Requirements

  • Medical Assistant certification required
  • 3–5 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable assisting with sensitive examinations and procedures in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Ability to help patients feel at ease during personal or potentially stressful healthcare visits
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to jump in where the team needs support
  • Commitment to providing respectful, inclusive, patient-centered care

Nice To Haves

  • Women’s Health, OB/GYN, prenatal, primary care, or related clinical experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and rooming patients while helping them feel comfortable and prepared for their visit
  • Obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, medications, and other clinical information
  • Preparing exam and procedure rooms and ensuring appropriate supplies and equipment are available
  • Chaperoning examinations and assisting providers with women’s health procedures
  • Supporting prenatal and women’s health visits
  • Collecting and preparing specimens as ordered
  • Performing basic clinical and laboratory procedures within your training and scope
  • Administering immunizations and medications as directed and permitted
  • Assisting providers with follow-up care, patient instructions, and clinical documentation
  • Monitoring provider desktops, messages, charts, and other clinical workflow needs
  • Helping maintain accurate and timely information in the electronic health record
  • Supporting efficient patient flow throughout the day
  • Connecting patients with additional health and community resources when appropriate
  • Collaborating with the entire care team to support quality, safety, and an excellent patient experience
