About The Position

New England Dermatology & Laser Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Medical Assistant with a strong work ethic and dedication to join their busy specialty practice. This role involves significant patient interaction and supports a positive patient experience. The position is full-time, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. While the primary work location is Springfield, flexibility may be required to work at other offices (Northampton, Longmeadow, and Westfield) based on staffing and provider needs. Overtime may also be necessary to meet operational demands.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Medical Assisting Certificate from an accredited school
• Medical assisting experience
• RMA, CMA or CDT required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

• Dermatology certification

• Surgical experience not necessary

Responsibilities

• Facilitating a positive patient office experience
• Rooming patients
• Documenting visits
• Taking before and after photos
• Assisting with various procedures and surgeries
• Maintaining sterile field
• Administering injections
• Assisting with suturing
• Wound care
• Patient preparation, education, and follow-up
• Scheduling appointments
• Room preparation and stocking
• Triaging and returning calls
• Other related tasks
