About The Position

The Toledo Clinic's Podiatry Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to provide both clinical and clerical support in a fast paced office setting. This position will be scheduled on Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri from 8:00am-5:00pm and Tuesdays from 7:00am -3:00pm. Qualified candidates will have an MA credential, such as the RMA, CMA or CCMA, in addition to a program certificate/diploma. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal skills required.

Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).
Medicare Exclusion List.
Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.

Clinical medical assisting experience.

Responsibilities

Assist providers with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
Escorting patients to exam room.
Preparing exam rooms.
Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
Administering injections.
