About The Position

The Toledo Clinic's Endocrinology Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to work full-time. The hours are Tuesday-Friday (8:00-5:00). This position will provide front office support (referrals, scheduling patients, checking patients out, answering messages) and run patients when needed. Qualified candidates will have an MA credential in addition to a certificate/diploma or able to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).
  • Medicare Exclusion List.
  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
  • MA credential in addition to a certificate/diploma or able to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with office operations by managing incoming and outgoing patient communication, scheduling patient appointments, managing prior authorizations, and preparing patient charts for providers.
  • Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
  • Answer and manage incoming and outgoing patient communication.
  • Manage scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Manage incoming faxes.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for providers (i.e.: ensuring all necessary patient records/information is updated in patient chart prior to appointment).
  • Manage prior authorizations for services and medications.
  • Assist with prescription refills and referral management.
  • Download diabetic patient status from Dexacom.
  • Assist, as needed, with preparing exam rooms, sterilizing and preparing instruments, escorting patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for providers.
  • Assist providers, as needed, with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries, administering injections, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
