About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) will work in a physician practice within the Medical Group Plastic Surgery department. This full-time position involves providing administrative and clinical support to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent patient care. The role requires flexibility in hours and some travel to other locations to meet operational needs. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
