About The Position
The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) plays a crucial role in supporting the physician practice within the Medical Group Otolaryngology ENT in Northbrook. This full-time position involves a combination of administrative and clinical tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care. The role requires interaction with patients, scheduling, co-payment collection, registration, and providing administrative support to the physician practice. Additionally, the MA/PSA will be responsible for checking patients in and out, verifying insurance, greeting patients, escorting them to exam rooms, documenting vital signs, allergies, medications, and the reason for the visit. Basic clinical tasks such as performing vital signs (BP, height, weight) are also part of the responsibilities. Phlebotomy and injections may be required. The position is based in Northbrook, IL, with potential travel to Skokie when needed. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- One year of work experience required.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
Responsibilities
