About The Position
The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) will work within the Medical Group Cardiology/Vascular Surgery team. This full-time position involves providing administrative and clinical support to a physician practice. Responsibilities include managing appointments, handling patient registration, processing co-payments, and ensuring smooth patient flow. The role also requires documenting patient information, performing basic vital signs, and potentially assisting with phlebotomy and injections. The position is based in Skokie, IL, with potential travel to other sites for coverage. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- One year of work experience required
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
- previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-payments
- Complete patient registration
- Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
- Check in and check out patients
- Verify insurances
- Greet patients and escort them to exam room
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
