About The Position

This position is for a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant in Gynecologic Oncology at Evanston Hospital. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with hours typically Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm/8:30am-5pm, with no weekends or holidays. The schedule will be based on clinical needs. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
• previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
