About The Position

This position is for a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Associate in the Anesthesia Pain Management department, located in Skokie, IL. The role is full-time with a schedule of 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The primary responsibilities involve administrative support for the physician practice, including managing appointments, patient registration, co-payments, and greeting patients. Additionally, the role requires documenting patient information, taking basic vitals, and potentially performing phlebotomy and injections. On-the-job training is provided for those without prior medical assistant experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
  • One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Complete patient registration
  • Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Verify insurances
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required
