About The Position
The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) in Primary Care plays a crucial role in supporting the physician practice. This full-time position involves a range of administrative and clinical tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent patient care. The role requires flexibility with hours, including rotating weekends, and potential travel to other sites as needed. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
- One year of work experience required
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-payments
- Complete patient registration
- Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
- Check in and check out patients
- Verify insurances
- Greet patients and escort them to exam room
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
