About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Associate (MA/PSA) - Medical Group Ortho role is a full-time position located in Skokie, IL. This role involves providing administrative and clinical support to a physician practice within the Orthopedics department. The position offers rotating hours between 7 am and 7 pm and may require travel to other sites based on department needs. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
