About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) role is within the Medical Group Neurology department at Glenbrook Hospital. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with specific operating hours from Monday to Friday. The role involves direct patient interaction, administrative support, and potential travel to other locations, requiring flexible hours to meet operational needs. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred
• Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
