About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) will work within the Medical Group Physical Medicine Rehab department. This role is crucial for providing administrative and basic clinical support to the physician practice, ensuring a smooth patient flow and excellent patient experience. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with operating hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role involves travel to various Endeavor Health locations including SK Spine Center GB, NNI EV, NNI Lincolnshire, and NNI.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
