This is an entry-level full-time position for a Medical Assistant in Optometry. The role is located in Jeffersonville, IN and is an on-site position only. Requirements

Completion of high school education, or equivalent, is required.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
Compassionate demeanor with a strong focus on patient care.
Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
Proficient in basic computer operations and software usage.
Regularly required to talk or hear and communicate with patients.
Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently accesses all areas of the building.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience (1+ years) in a healthcare or clinical environment is preferable.
Occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Introduce new patients to office protocols and procedures.
Accurately document patient data and perform consistent measurements.
Uphold sterile practices and infection control standards.
Manage patient flow by determining testing order and escorting individuals from the waiting area.
Provide clear guidance on next steps and ensure patient comfort during wait times.
Perform preliminary testing on patients.
Adjust testing sequences as needed to maintain efficient operations.
Identify and resolve minor equipment issues.
Inspect device connections and functionality.
Promptly report technical problems to the location manager.
Seek assistance from senior team members when tasks exceed current skill level.
Keep exam and procedure rooms clean and well-stocked.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support clinic operations.
