About The Position

Join a collaborative outpatient Neurology and Sleep Medicine practice in a dual role supporting both patient care and front-desk operations. You will room patients, obtain vital signs, complete medication reconciliation, support patient flow, and assist with scheduling, check-in, phones, Epic work queues, and prior authorizations. This position does not perform phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, or office procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred.
  • License Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
  • Registration Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • Certificate 1 EMT Basic License preferred.
  • Certificate 2 Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and room patients for Neurology and Sleep Medicine appointments
  • Obtain and document blood pressure, height, weight, and other vital signs
  • Review and update medication and allergy information
  • Complete medication reconciliation for each patient
  • Ask required screening questions, including fall-risk and health history questions
  • Communicate the reason for the visit, abnormal vital signs, and relevant patient information to the provider
  • Help manage patient flow and communicate delays
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms
  • Support medication and radiology prior authorization processes
  • Document completed work accurately in Epic
  • Check patients in and out
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and route messages
  • Work within Epic In Basket and assigned work queues
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • Communicate professionally with patients, families, providers, and colleagues
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Assist with coverage in other specialty practices when needed
