About The Position

This is a full-time position for an experienced Medical Assistant - Lead. The role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, focusing on patient care, supporting physicians, managing clinic workflow, and leading a team of medical assistants and clinical support staff. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and offers opportunities for professional development within a healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of medical assistant experience, preferably in ENT or another specialty practice
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume clinical environment

Nice To Haves

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with ENT examinations and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain exam and procedure rooms
  • Perform clinical tasks including injections, ear lavages, specimen collection, dressing changes, and point-of-care testing as permitted by state regulations
  • Assist with in-office procedures such as nasal endoscopy, cerumen removal, allergy testing, and minor surgical procedures
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
  • Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, post-procedure care, and follow-up instructions
  • Process prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and lab results
  • Support medical assistants and clinical support staff
  • Coordinate daily clinic workflow to maintain efficiency and patient flow
  • Train and onboard new employees on office procedures and EMR documentation standards
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching when needed
  • Serve as a liaison between providers, clinical staff, and office management
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic policies and procedures
  • Assist with scheduling coverage and resolving workflow issues during busy clinic hours
  • Maintain adequate clinical supplies and coordinate inventory management
  • Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Manage patient messages, phone calls, and provider requests in a timely manner
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts
  • Assist with chart preparation and provider schedules
