About The Position

Performs various patient care tasks and uses non-professional skills to assist the physician in providing care to patients in an outpatient setting. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse and/or physician, performs delegated patient-care tasks and procedures involving patients’ physical, psychological, social, emotional, safety, and security needs. Facilitates appropriate registration and documentation for billing and collection purposes, as well as clerical duties specific to the location. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a medical assisting course resulting in a diploma or certificate of course completion.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of physician office experience.
• Active regional or national certification as a medical assistant.

Responsibilities
