About The Position
The Medical Assistant II assists providers with patient care, clerical work, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and environmental and organizational tasks. The role includes scheduling appointments, managing charts, and providing information to patients so they can fully utilize and benefit from clinic services. The Medical Assistant II conveys a positive image of the organization. All clinical tasks must be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician (MD, DO, APN, or PA) who is physically present in the facility and immediately available.
Requirements
- At least six months of experience in an urgent care or primary care physician practice setting and/or direct patient care experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
- Fluency in English.
- Must have BLS within 30 days of hire.
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire, if required by the department.
