Clinic - Medical Assistant II
About The Position
The Medical Assistant II assists providers with patient care and clinic operations, including clerical work, insurance verification, prior authorizations, appointment scheduling, chart management, and environmental and organizational tasks. The role provides information to patients so they can fully use and benefit from clinic services, and conveys a positive image of the organization. All clinical tasks performed by Medical Assistant II staff must be under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician (MD, DO, APN, or PA) who is physically present in the facility and immediately available.
Requirements
- At least six months of experience in urgent care, a primary care physician practice setting, and/or direct patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
- Fluency in English.
- Must have BLS within 30 days of hire.
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire, if required by the department.
