About The Position

Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care. This role involves chart management and patient flow, performing delegated medical tasks, and potentially clerical duties. When an electronic system is in use, the position requires utilizing it as documented in department and/or FPI standard operating procedures and processes. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution (or 2 years of supervised work experience in a medical assisting field under special circumstances vetted by Human Resources Director and Department Director)
  • Medical Assistant certification (such as NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.)
  • Demonstrated skill in venipuncture
  • Graduation from an accredited training program (school) or 3-5 years of supervised work experience in a medical setting
  • Ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines
  • CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
