Medical Assistant I Radiation Oncology
About The Position
The Medical Assistant is a member of Corewell Health’s clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. Under the direction of management and physician leadership, the Medical Assistant performs and oversees functions within their scope of practice related to clinical activities. The role supports patient flow and health care delivery by performing technical procedures and clinically oriented activities. The Medical Assistant also assists management with office efficiencies and efficient operations, supporting physicians, clinical staff, and management to promote customer satisfaction. This position is based in the Proton Beam department at Royal Oak Hospital. It is a full-time, day-shift position scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a competency-based Medical Assistant training program, or six months of experience within the last seven years as an LPN, EMT, ER Tech, or paramedic.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days.
Nice To Haves
- One year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting.
- Nursing students from an accredited registered or licensed practical nurse program may be considered after beginning a clinical course of study.
