About The Position

Third Street Family Health Services is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I to join its Medical Department. The role works closely with medical and behavioral health providers in a care team environment to build rapport with patients and support optimal patient care. The Medical Assistant helps prepare patients for appointments, supports clinical examinations and procedures, and contributes to efficient patient flow and continuity of care. Third Street is a patient-centered medical home and regional not-for-profit community health center serving communities across eleven locations in Richland, Marion, Ashland, and Crawford counties. Its mission is to deliver comprehensive health and wellness care that is accessible to all in the communities it serves.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days.

Nice To Haves

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform basic patient check-in and check-out functions, including verifying and updating demographic and insurance information as needed.
Welcome patients, prepare them for appointments, and communicate pertinent information to the care team to support patient flow.
Obtain vital signs and collect specimens.
Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
Maintain clinical rooms, equipment, and supplies.
Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with basic patient access and care coordination to support continuity of care.
Collaborate with providers and other care team members to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.
