About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant I for its Proton Beam department at Royal Oak Hospital. As a member of the clinical support team, the Medical Assistant works closely with healthcare professionals to support patient care. Under the direction of management and physician leadership, the role performs and oversees functions within the scope of practice related to clinical activities, including maintaining patient flow, supporting health care delivery, and performing technical procedures and clinically oriented activities. The Medical Assistant also assists management in achieving office efficiencies in accordance with stated policies and procedures, supporting physicians, clinical staff, and management to promote customer satisfaction and efficient operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency-based Medical Assistant training program, or six months of experience within the last seven years as an LPN, EMT, ER Tech, or paramedic.
• A nursing student from an accredited registered or licensed practice nurse program may be considered after beginning a clinical course of study.
• Obtain American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
