About The Position

ChristianaCare is looking for a Medical Assistant I for our Ob/Gyn Women's Health practice at our Map I location in Newark, DE. ChristianaCare Women’s Health at Map I provides comprehensive, patient‑centered care for women at every stage of life. Our team delivers personalized care using evidence‑based best practices and advanced technology in a supportive, collaborative environment. Services include routine exams, preventive screenings, Pap smears, and STI screening and treatment, with a strong focus on safety, education, and whole‑person care.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

• Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
• Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
