About The Position
ChristianaCare's Primary Care at Aston, PA is seeking a professional, compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. Our new hospital at the ChristianaCare Aston Campus is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We have a 10-bed inpatient unit for those who require overnight hospital stays, observation and testing. The emergency department treats common emergency care needs such as falls, injuries, heart attacks and strokes. We’re also adding a health center, opening in late October 2026, that will offer a comprehensive range of outpatient services. These services are expected to include primary and specialty care practices plus an array of other clinical services. Our goal is to make access to health care easy, convenient and close to home in a way that is sustainable and right sized to meet the needs of local communities. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities
- Greets and supports patients virtually and in person
- Prepares patients for visits
- Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
- Assists with exams
- Maintains exam rooms and equipment
- Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling
- Handles clerical duties
- Troubleshoots video visits
- Supports patient portal access
