As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within medical practice.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments.
- Greet and support patients virtually and in person.
- Prepare patients for visits.
- Perform basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs).
- Assist with exams.
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment.
- Manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
- Handle clerical duties.
- Troubleshoot video visits.
- Support patient portal access.
