About The Position

ChristianaCare's Primary Care at Newcastle practice is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. ChristianaCare's Primary Care at New Castle offers primary medical care for adults. Providing quality healthcare services including Immunizations, Physical examinations, Minor medical procedures and Lab services on-site. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
