About The Position

ChristianaCare Primary Care at Smyrna is looking for a Medical Assistant I. This role is located at 100 South Main Street in Smyrna, Delaware. The Primary Care at Smyrna facility provides extensive medical services for families, including primary medical care, gynecology and women's health, immunizations, physical examinations, preventive medicine, and treatment for acute and chronic conditions. The facility also features an on-site pharmacy and the Swank Center for Memory Care.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED required.
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

Greets and supports patients virtually and in person.
Prepares patients for visits.
Performs basic clinical tasks such as testing, injections, and EKGs.
Assists with patient examinations.
Maintains exam rooms and equipment.
Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, and authorizations.
Handles scheduling.
Performs clerical duties.
Troubleshoots video visits.
Supports patient portal access.
