We are a neurosurgery physician office with pain management department included in the office. The Medical Assistant I will prepare and room patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information. They will monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures, perform laboratory procedures, and assist the Physician/Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures. The role involves administering routine medications, following through with necessary procedure or test requests, and communicating with the healthcare team and patients. The Medical Assistant may also perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks such as suture removal, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKGs, and Holter monitor applications under clinical supervision. This role requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the life span.
