Medical Assistant - Neurosurgery

We are dedicated to enhancing the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the diverse communities we serve. Our Neurosurgery Practice at the plaza is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team! The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be focused on the patient and their needs, and be a self starter. We expect our MAs to build rapport with patients and collaborate with their provider if a patient does not appear to be doing well. This role may provide coverage to satellite locations in South Kansas and Lee's Summit.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification required (CMA, NRCMA, RMA, CCMA)
- BLS Certification required
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Medical Assistant (Certified) - Various
- Diploma - Medical Assistant
Nice To Haves
- 1 year experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Professional demeanor at all times
Responsibilities
- Assisting providers and the nursing team in the delivery of professional medical care.
- Pre-visit planning.
- Rooming patients.
- Obtaining vitals.
- Utilizing the EMR system.
- Scanning and downloading of documents.
- Telephone screening (with protocols).
- Insurance prior authorization.
- Duties as assigned based on respective clinic need.
