About The Position

ChristianaCare's Cardiology practice at the Health Care Center is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. ChristianaCare Cardiology provides specialized care in virtually all aspects of cardiology. They work as a team to give our patients the best cardiac care possible. This department uses state-of-the-art equipment and the latest procedures available in cardiac medicine. They also provide sophisticated cardiovascular diagnostic imaging service and provide rehabilitation services to help speed our patients recovery.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
