MEDICAL ASSISTANT/GENERAL SURGERY - M-F, 8-5
About The Position
Toledo Clinic's General Surgery Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA required) to provide both clinical and clerical support in a busy surgical office. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA)
- Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.
Nice To Haves
- Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties.
- Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
- Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
- Escorting patients to exam room.
- Preparing exam rooms.
- Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
- Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
- At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
- Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
- Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
- Administering injections.
- Other duties as assigned.
