About The Position
Community Health Care is a nonprofit organization providing comprehensive family practice services—including medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health care—to underserved patients in Pierce County. The Medical Assistant Float supports clinics by preparing exam rooms, equipment, and supplies; documenting patient information and vital signs; and completing assigned clinical and clerical duties. The role supports quality patient care, customer service, teamwork, and provider effectiveness. This is a full-time position based at the Lakewood Clinic in Lakewood, Washington. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The hourly salary range is $27.64 to $37.31.
Requirements
- Washington State Certified Medical Assistant License.
- Education from an accredited, state-approved program.
- The employer encourages applicants with a relevant combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for exams and procedures.
- Take and document accurate vital signs, height, and weight, and record patients’ chief complaints.
- Perform assigned clerical and clinical duties to support quality patient care, customer service, and effective teamwork.
- Provide clerical support and effective support to providers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
