About The Position
Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces 2024 by Newsweek, is offering Externship opportunities for motivated students looking to gain real-world dermatology experience. This is an unpaid externship designed to provide practical experience in a high-volume, fast-paced dermatology practice to fulfill externship requirements.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Medical Assistant program (with required externship hours)
- Strong communication and professionalism
- CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake, triage, and vital signs
- Support providers during dermatologic exams and shadow minor procedures
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Learn to document patient information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Learn administrative tasks as it relates to clinic Receptionist and Medical Assistant tasks
- Learn dermatology-specific skills and patient education techniques
