Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include clinical and administrative responsibilities in a variety of specialty clinic settings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) year of previous experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
  • Reliable transportation, and willingness to commute throughout the Portland Metro area are required.
  • Certification through a national agency such as AAMA, NCCT, etc. is required.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is required.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Care experience is a plus!
  • Epic experience is a plus!
  • ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • Based on specialty may require LXMO license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide temporary staffing coverage for scheduled vacations, staffing vacancies, project assignments, and other interim staffing needs throughout The Oregon Clinic.
  • Perform both clinical and administrative duties in a variety of specialty clinic settings.
  • Assist providers and medical staff by collecting patient information, documenting relevant history, and preparing patients for examination.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure patient readiness for appointments and procedures.
  • Assist with clinical procedures and perform specialty-related tests, treatments, and patient monitoring as directed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Support the overall delivery of patient care and clinic operations.
  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Check in and check out new and established patients in an efficient, professional, and timely manner.
  • Schedule appointments for new and established patients.
  • Obtain, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Answer and manage incoming calls through a multi-line phone system.
  • Process incoming referrals, authorizations, and electronic fax submissions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and fellow team members.
  • Assist with department operations and workflow as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
