About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time (32 hours per week) Credentialed Medical Assistant II at our Broadway Medical-Dermatology Clinic in Northeast Portland. You will work alongside a collaborative team of patient-focused colleagues and physicians, delivering world-class care with kindness and empathy. Your role is crucial in ensuring patients receive high-value care tailored to their needs by providing excellent customer service and communication skills. You will assist medical staff by collecting information, escorting patients, preparing them for examination, assisting with procedures and tests, scheduling appointments, maintaining a clean and safe environment, utilizing EMR for prescriptions and test results, updating records, and potentially being cross-trained in other clinic duties. This position offers the opportunity to make a valuable impact within the local community and our ecosystem of care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of previous experience as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred.
  • Certification through a national agency such as AAMA, NCCT, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Dermatology healthcare experience is a plus!
  • Experience with sterile surgical procedures in Dermatology is preferred.
  • ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • EPIC experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the medical staff by collecting information
  • Escorting patients to exam rooms
  • Preparing patients for examination
  • Assisting with procedures and performing related tests/monitoring
  • Scheduling appointments for new and established patients as needed
  • Maintaining a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment
  • Utilizing EMR to process prescriptions, retrieve test results, and patient files
  • Updating records as needed
  • Cross-training in multiple areas and/or assigned additional clinic duties
  • Assisting with the overall delivery of patient care in the department
  • Other duties as assigned
