About The Position

Canyon View Medical is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Pediatrics clinic in Spanish Fork, Utah. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are also welcome to apply. The position assists the Health Care Provider with patient care activities, provides quality customer service, maintains established quality control standards, and follows through on Provider orders for treatments. Availability to work Friday evenings and Saturday daytime shifts is needed.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or CNA certification.
At least one year of previous clinical experience or an externship recommendation.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Knowledge of EHRs, preferably NextGen.
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
Ability to maintain effective, organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
Availability to work Friday evenings and Saturday daytime shifts.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing procedures under physician supervision.
Assist the physician in exam rooms.
Escort patients to exam rooms, interview them, measure vital signs—including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature—and document information in patient charts.
Give patients instructions as directed by the physician.
Ensure related reports, lab results, and other information are filed and available in patients’ medical records before appointments.
Stock exam rooms with medical supplies; maintain instruments and prepare sterilization as required.
Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to calls from patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians.
Maintain logs and perform required checks, including refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, and cold sterilization fluid changes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the physician, MA Supervisor, or practice administrator.
