About The Position

Southwoods Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant / Clinical Assistant to join its physician office in Campbell, Ohio. Southwoods is a rapidly growing, locally owned healthcare system focused on patient-centered, high-quality care. The role partners with physicians to help provide comprehensive care in a welcoming, professional environment. The position is 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with no nights, weekends, or major holidays. The role combines hands-on clinical support with administrative duties, patient coordination, and compliance responsibilities. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Requirements

At least 1 year of direct patient care experience.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Proven ability to multitask in a high-volume clinic setting.
Database proficiency.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
Relevant experience as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomist, or Pharmacy Technician is welcomed.
Equivalent, highly relevant clinical healthcare experience may substitute for graduation from a Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

Room patients and perform patient intake, including checking vital signs and updating medication lists.
Process laboratory specimens efficiently.
Coordinate and schedule patient procedures and surgeries.
Communicate directly with external surgical vendors.
Manage and optimize physician block times.
Maintain data integrity in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Handle insurance prior authorizations.
Protect patient confidentiality and comply with OSHA and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
