About The Position

Under the general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows applicable policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. The role provides clinical and clerical support, including rooming patients, assisting with medical procedures, cleaning equipment, preparing charts, and obtaining referral notes, images, and lab results before patient visits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 months of experience in a healthcare setting.
• One of the listed certifications or credentials: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or MA-ARMA.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
• Skill in drawing blood for laboratory testing and ensuring proper specimen handling.
• Competence using electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information.
• Proficiency in patient rooming and proper cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment.
• Ability to prepare for and assist with medical procedures.
• Ability to perform clerical duties, including answering phones, greeting patients, filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
• Ability to demonstrate all Medical Assistant KSA's.
