About The Position

This is a year-long internship and medical assistant position at Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, ideal for students graduating or who have graduated from undergraduate school and are planning a career in medicine. This program, now in its 22nd year, offers extensive medical assistant training and hands-on experience in dermatology. It is a paid, full-time internship requiring a twelve-month commitment. The position is available in multiple states including FL, GA, PA, MI, CO, NV, AZ, MD, and VA, WY. Applicants must have graduated or will be graduating by June 2026 and are not currently applying for medical school to begin in September 2026. Reliable transportation is necessary due to the need to travel between surrounding offices. Housing is not provided. Multiple participants are accepted each year, with the current group consisting of 40 individuals.

Requirements

• Must be a student wishing to pursue a career in medicine
• Must have completed undergraduate degree by June 2026 or earlier
• Must be available for a twelve-month period
• Must have a car or reliable transportation
• Must have graduated or will be graduating this year
• Must not be currently applying for medical school to begin in the class of September 2026

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with all patient care duties
• Triage of patients
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) data entry
• Writing and understanding prescriptions and their uses
• Biopsy preparation and clean up
