About The Position

This is a full year job opportunity with America's Largest Dermatology Practice, available in multiple states including FL, GA, PA, MI, CO, NV, AZ, MD, VA, and WY. Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is seeking highly motivated students interested in a medical career for a year-long internship and medical assistant position. The program is ideal for "bridge year" students who have graduated or are graduating from undergraduate school and have not yet applied or been accepted to medical school. This elite program is in its 22nd year, with most graduates pursuing successful careers as physicians or physician's assistants. While positions are standardly available beginning May 2026 for June 2026 graduates, immediate hire positions are currently open. The role requires a full year commitment. Applicants should not be applying for medical school to begin in September 2026 and must have completed their undergraduate degree by June 2026 or earlier. The position offers in-depth Medical Assistant training and hands-on medical experience in dermatology. Reliable transportation is essential due to floating between surrounding offices/practices, and housing is not provided. This is a paid full-time internship, offering unparalleled clinical experience and a unique opportunity for those interested in the medical profession. Multiple applicants are accepted, with the current year having 40 participants.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated student wishing to pursue a career in medicine
  • Graduated or will be graduating from undergraduate school
  • Has not yet applied or been accepted to medical school to begin in the class of September 2026
  • Available for a twelve-month period (full year commitment)
  • Completed undergraduate degree by June 2026 or earlier
  • Possess a car or reliable transportation due to floating around surrounding offices/practices

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician with all patient care duties
  • Triage patients
  • Perform Electronic Medical Record (EMR) data entry
  • Write and understand prescriptions and their uses
  • Prepare for and clean up after biopsies
  • Assist in surgical procedures and clean up
